Kestrel Recruitment is a local Recruitment and Group Training Organisation specialising in placing candidates with our clients across North East Victoria and Southern NSW within both the white and blue collar sectors.

We are actively sourcing candidates for upcoming permanent and short term roles, apprenticeships and traineeships with our local clients including a 1st year Apprentice Chef for two local businesses in the Alpine Shire.

These two highly popular places of eat are looking to hire someone with a genuine passion for cooking who is looking for an opportunity to undertake a nationally recognised qualification whilst working full time.

As an Apprentice Chef, you will have the opportunity to earn all aspects of the kitchen with typical duties including:

  • Food prep prior to service
  • Producing a variety of dishes
  • Using various food preparation equipment
  • Ensuring hygiene producers are met at all times
  • Participating in safe food handling procedures

While experience isn’t a necessity, those who do have experience as a kitchen hand or who been exposed to a high paced environment will most definitely be highly regarded. What is a must, is a passion in food, a real go-getter and someone who works well under pressure. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a qualification (Certificate III Commercial Cookery) whilst learning (and earning) on the job.

Please note that you will be required to work 38+ hours a week on a rotating rosters which may include days, evenings, weekend and public holidays.
