We have an attractive opportunity in a growing professional steel manufacturing business for an experienced Engineering workshop Supervisor or Manager. You have the opportunity to join a mid-size, well established Wodonga based business and take control of ensuring cost effective manufacturing processes, and to ensure workflow is meeting customer requirements and quality control.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing employees and mentoring staff (including Leading Hands, Apprentices, etc.)
  • Allocating resources for all works
  • Efficient and cost competitive Materials Purchases
  • Continually seeking out productivity improvements
  • Reviewing all inwards goods
  • Working closely with management on job plans, budgets and resourcing
  • Promoting internal policies and processes
  • Coordinating equipment maintenance, repairs, tag and testing

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar Management or Supervisory position
  • Experience working in stainless steel manufacturing
  • Highly organised and the ability to manage both own and others workloads
  • High level attention to detail
  • Quality assurance experience
  • AutoCAD 2D & 3D (desirable)
  • Understanding of planning processes
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Forklift and Dogman Licences (desirable)
  • Current White card
