Kestrel Recruitment is a local Recruitment and Group Training Organisation specialising in placing candidates with our clients across North East Victoria and Southern NSW within both the white and blue collar sectors.

Based in Corryong, our client is a country styled bar and bistro and is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts where the opportunity has now arisen to take on a motivated and proactive individual to join the team as a casual Qualified Chef commencing November 2019 to April 2020.

About the role

Your duties will include:

  • Capacity to scale up production to deal with key, annual peak periods and festivals.
  • Applicable trade qualifications and accreditation's, including a sound and relevant knowledge of OHS and food safety practices.
  • Ability to manage food ordering, including stock levels and suppliers.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure, and lead by example.
  • Positive communication skills, with an approachable energy and attitude and a professional demeanour when dealing with customers.
  • Ability to lead a small cohesive team and work with hands-on owners.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar environment.

This role will see you working a minimum of 5 days a week, including weekends and will cover the peak holiday season.

About you

The successful candidate will ideally have a relevant Qualification and has demonstrated a high level of chef experience, possess an interest in food and enjoy creating an appetising specials board to supplement the daily menu.

This is a casual position, paid in accordance with Hospitality Industry General Award (2010).
